J. Ashley Sawyer
Ashley has practiced law for a decade. During her career, Ashley has worked at some of the most well-respected family law firms in the Atlanta area. Prior to opening her own firm, Ashley was a partner at family law firm, Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder in Atlanta. Before practicing family law, Ashley served as the staff attorney to Honorable C. LaTain Kell of the Superior Court of Cobb County. Ashley's prior firm experience coupled with her past work as a judicial staff attorney gives her a unique and invaluable perspective that she brings to each of her cases.
Ashley is a strong and tireless advocate for her clients. She is thorough, hardworking, and dedicated to her cases. She gives candid and honest advice while also providing the compassion and support her clients need. In all of her cases, Ashley strives to maximize a client's outcome while minimizing their costs, both financial and emotional. Ashley understands the detrimental impact that litigation can have on children and does all that she can to minimize that possibility in her cases.
In addition to being a litigator, Ashley is also trained as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) where her duty is to represent the best interests of a child in a contested custody case. As a Guardian ad Litem, Ashley conducts an investigation and makes a recommendation to the Court in an effort to assist the judge and the parties in reaching a decision regarding child custody, visitation, and other child related issues.
Atlanta Magazine and Super Lawyers.com has recognized Ashley as a "Rising Star" in the area of family law every year since 2014, an honor only 2.5% of attorneys in the state receive. She has also been recognized as a Top 10 Family Lawyer Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. Ashley has been honored by the State Bar of Georgia for Outstanding Service to the Profession due to her dedication to the Family Law Section and her substantial fundraising efforts on behalf of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), a local non-profit organization to which she continues to volunteer her time.
